About The Rider – I am currently a 62 year old real estate broker in Daytona Beach FL.
A native and life long Floridian, I was educated at the University of Florida, fixed fighter planes in the USAF, and have built and hopped-up sporting bikes since 1963. I have been married to the same wonderful lady, Wanda for 40 years, with 3 grown sons.
My first motorcycle road race was in 1973 on a 175cc Ossa Sport at Palm Beach International Raceway, where I took 1st place.
Over the next few years I won, among others, Road Atlanta, Charlotte, and several state and regional championships.
During the 1970s and early ’80s I campaigned my Kawasaki 1000cc Superbike as an AMA Expert Pro with much success, placing several times as a top privateer in national events. In 1975 I won the AMA race at Pocono, By 1982 I had earned an AMA road race national number.
No more racing for the next 25 years, as those years were dedicated to family and business, but I continued to ride on the street daily.
My primary transportation has been a motorcycle for 48 years.
In 2006 some of my old racing buddies influenced me into restoring and racing my old 1975 Superbike in the vintage class. I became the 2008 Superbike National Champion and 2010 Daytona winner.
Today I am an expert CCS racer and AHRMA racer, riding both the Vintage Superbike and a modern SuperSport SV650.
The Cycle Gear store in Daytona has been very good to me in many ways, and I am proud to be associated with them.
